Abigail Swanson is a writer and editor from San Diego, California. As an avid reader of all manner of books from a young age, her love of literature and story is deeply rooted in her earliest memories (she fondly remembers Jane Eyre as the first book that made her cry). In high school and college she studied novel writing and fiction, and after graduating with degrees in English and History, her passion for the written word turned her toward editing. Apart from her freelance work, she volunteers for her local college’s magazine, The Acorn Review, where she has also been published. She writes poetry and the occasional short fiction while she makes slow but steady progress on her novel, a retelling of ice-themed fairy tales and Russian folklore. When she’s not lingering between the pages of a book (or e-reader), she enjoys sewing, fiddling, drawing, and drinking coffee.
